Koperasi (cooperation) is an economic body that is appropriate for our country which embodies Code 33 of UUD 1945. Yet, the role of koperasi in public economy is still very small; therefore the role of koperasi as a médium for a prevailing economic activity and embedded in society needs to be improved.
In year 2006, there are 87 units of koperasi in Bengkayang Regency. Based on the types, there are 19 units of KUD (Koperasi Unit Desa) and 68 units of a non KUD which spread all over the districts in Bengkayang Regency.
There are 10.006 of koperasi members listed in year 2006; 11.499 of KUD members persons with 3.307 KUD coorperation members and 8.192 non KUD members. Middle small scale business presence in Bengkayang is dodol making industry, bidai craftwork by individual located in Seluas and Jagoi Babang district.
