Health Care
Health Care development is linked with all aspects of human life. A successful health care development resulted in the increase of public welfare. Nevertheless, health care development goes hand in hand with the quality and health care effort which is very related to the availability of health care facilities.
Above is posible by creating a basic health care access which is supported by every resources such as hospitals, clinics, health care personnels, and the availability of doctors. Based on data gathered by Dinas Kesehatan in 2006, there was a an increase of medical personnels in Bengkayang Regency, where as the highest number is the nurse personnels (103), and laboring nurse personnels (97).
The numbers of health care facilitities available in 2006 are General Hospitals 2 units, clinics 12 units, assisting clinics 63 units, polindes 85 units, health care treatment post 2 units and posyandu 241 units.
An observation on the distribution of medical personnels per district the biggest number of medical personnels available is in Sungai Raya district per kecamatan, 2 doctors, 2 dentist, 15 laboring nurses, and 24 nurses. On the other hand, Bengkayang district has quite sufficient numbers of medical personnels: 2 doctors, 1 dentist, 9 laboring nurse, and 7 nurses.
